The Import-Export Millennium

Global Trading Tools for the 21st Century

Go Digital

Sending Information through the mail
is so . . . last millennium!

I've been shipping trade information products to my clients around the world for almost two decades now. In the old days it was video tapes and hard-copy books (really heavy -- and expensive!) and in recent years, I've been shipping CD-ROMs in clamshell cases (less heavy . . . but bulky).

But whether you ordered received VHS tapes or CD-ROMs, one thing was certain.

You could be waiting a long time for delivery. If you were a non-US buyer, it might be a long, long time.  Some buyers would beg for the very expensive overnight delivery option and would discover that it often took weeks for the local Customs office to clear the shipment anyway. Sometimes it could take a month -- or more (Canada was the worst). Money wasted. Delays.

And sometimes the tapes were broken in shipment or a particular CD-ROM was bad or, occasionally -- the package was delivered to the wrong address. I hate when that happens!

I'm pleased to announce that I now provide digital delivery of all my trade products. Since I handle all orders by hand, it might still take a business day for the order to be processed, but you will then be given access to my clients-only website. There you can download or view all the books, videos, software, trade articles and archived newsletters in your trade package.

This is exactly the same information that used to be shipped through the mail. The only difference:

  • No shipping delays -- you get it immediately
  • No Customs delays (for overseas clients)
  • No shipping and handling charges
  • Immediate access to all your trade products for a full year
  • Access to (and notification of) updates when they happen -- for the entire 12 months of your subscription
  • Archived newsletters and popular trade articles -- this was not included with hard copy packages

The only thing you need to make this work is a PC computer and broadband Internet connection. This is important because the videos -- though stored on a high-efficiency server -- still take up a lot of bandwidth and anything less than a broadband connection will make the watching of the videos too slow.

I love the U.S. Postal Service but, let's face it -- rates are going up and efficiency is going down. In some other countries it's even worse. This is a new age -- a digital age. I've decided it's time to take advantage of it. I hope you will too.
